PUGLIA | The best travel guide 2023: PART 2

Welcome to Part 2 of our Puglia vlog, where we invite you to join us as we continue our captivating journey through this remarkable region of Italy. In this leg of our adventure, we explored the stunning cities of Lecce and Ostuni, immersing ourselves in their unique charm and architectural wonders.

Our first destination was Lecce, often referred to as the “Florence of the South” due to its abundance of exquisite Baroque architecture. We were fortunate to stay at La Fiermontina Luxury Home, an exclusive accommodation that seamlessly blends modern luxury with the city’s rich history. The hotel’s elegant interiors and serene courtyard provided a peaceful haven amidst the vibrant city.

As we stepped out to explore Lecce’s city center, we were immediately captivated by the city’s ornate buildings, intricate facades, and grand piazzas. The Basilica di Santa Croce, with its intricately carved stone facade, left us in awe of the craftsmanship and attention to detail. The Piazza del Duomo, surrounded by the magnificent Lecce Cathedral and the Bishop’s Palace, offered a splendid setting to take in the city’s splendor.

In the evening, we had the pleasure of experiencing another exceptional accommodation, the Palazzo Bozzi Corso. This small palace in the heart of Lecce exudes elegance and sophistication, providing a truly memorable stay. We indulged in the finest local cuisine, savoring traditional Puglian dishes bursting with flavors, accompanied by regional wines that delighted our palates.

On our final day, we embarked on a journey to Ostuni, a picturesque hilltop town perched majestically overlooking the Adriatic Sea. Known as the “White City” due to its dazzling white-washed buildings, Ostuni is a sight to behold. As we wandered through the labyrinthine streets, we marveled at the charming alleyways, adorned with vibrant flowers and charming cafes.

The highlight of our visit to Ostuni was undoubtedly the panoramic views it offered. From the town’s highest point, we gazed upon a breathtaking panorama of the surrounding countryside, with olive groves stretching as far as the eye could see. The contrast of the azure sky against the white walls of Ostuni created a picture-perfect backdrop, leaving us with unforgettable memories.

As our Puglia adventure came to a close, we bid farewell to this enchanting region. From the picturesque cities of Monopoli and Polignano a Mare to the unique trulli houses of Alberobello, and the historic wonders of Matera, our journey had been a tapestry of cultural riches and natural beauty.

We hope you enjoyed joining us on this immersive experience through Puglia. The region’s unique blend of history, gastronomy, and breathtaking landscapes left an indelible mark on our hearts. We thank you for watching our vlog and sharing in our passion for travel and exploration. Until next time, happy travels!
